Dr. Joe and Cheri Greco’s Williamsville, NY, home is a perfect example of Buffalo architect Duane Lyman’s talent. As quoted by Francis R. Kowsky and Bruce Baldwin’s research, “ Lyman could design in a variety of historical styles with finesse, his buildings always display fine craftsmanship and good taste.”
The architect Duane Lyman, who built the home in 1926, is known as the “Dean of Western NY Architecture.” He built many famous architectural gems including the Saturn Club, the Canisius College Chapel, and the Country Club of Buffalo’s (CCB) clubhouse circa 1926. The Greco’s home is located on the Donald Ross golf course on CCB. The home and its architectural detail are a classic example of Duane’s talent and timeless taste.
A few of the architectural details:
One of the most unique and valuable parts of the home is the property it’s located on. The expansive yard with mature trees and amazing gardens does justice to the architecture. It is tucked in with a koi pond and pool, plus a delightful terrace with views of the golf course. Every part is lovely and leaves one with a genuine sense of comfort. It’s a place anyone would be lucky to enjoy.
The interior of the home is equally gorgeous, with a wonderful flow and a style that invites friends and entertaining, as well as a soothing space for the family. Cheri is a wonderful hostess, with a kind demeanor and incredible taste. The Greco’s have a home that is family friendly and elegant in keeping with the exterior. Their two dogs, a pug and a black lab, seem to only add to the charm and happiness of the house.
The family room ‘s coffered ceiling and cedar doors and archways make it a rich and inviting space. The living room and expansive dining room flow naturally, with an ability to add room for more if needed. Every room has a fireplace which just adds to the ambiance. The Buffalo and Love of Dogs touches make it seem authentic and fun.
I am pleased to highlight the history and beauty of Buffalo’s architecture and focus on why we are referred to as the “City of Good Neighbors” with the genuine Greco family allowing us to peek into their stunning home.
